In the year 1959-60 Late Swami Shambhavanandaji, founder President of Vidyashala mooted the idea of forming a forum for regular interaction between the old boys and the Alma Mater. In 1972 Rev. Swami Sureshanandaji Maharaj, the then Correspondent of Sri Ramakrishna Vidyashala gave a definite shape and direction to that idea and formed the Old Boys' Association. Since then the association has been growing from strength to strength. In the year 1997, the association celebrated its Silver Jubilee. In the span of 30 years, the association has proved to be a unique and reliable support base to the Alma Mater
Sri Ramakrishna Vidyashala – a residential composite pre-university college for boys – is run by Sri Ramakrishna Ashrama, Mysuru, a branch of the Ramakrishna Math, Belur, Howrah, West Bengal. The object of this institution is to translate the all-encompassing concept of education envisioned by Swami Vivekananda. The institution established in 1953, has today standards VIII to XII.
