a)  Eligibility:

    -

Admission is open to VIII standard Boys only.

    -

Candidates must have passed VII standard or its equivalent.

    -

Minimum physique : Height 135 cm and Weight 28 kg.

    -

Candidates with chronic diseases, physical deformities, bedwetting, sleepwalking, epilepsy etc are not eligible.

Medium of instruction is English

    -

Students migrating from outside Karnataka can take either Hindi/Sanskrit as first language as per the norms set by the Department of Education. Study of Kannada as first or third language is mandatory for all.

b)  Mode of Admission:

    -

Selection through admission tests only.

   

The admission test will be held during the last week of April  in the form of a written examination in English, Mathematics, Science which will be based on the syllabus of VII Standard ( CBSE/ Karnataka State) and in Mental Ability. Separate question paper on central syllabus is also available.

    -

In addition, there will be an interview and a medical check up.

    -

Question papers of previous admission tests will not be made available.

    -

The admission test may be taken either in English or in Kannada medium.

    -

Admission tests will be held in batches in  Vidyashala Premises on 28th April to 2nd May
( 8 A.M. to 1 P.M. and 1 P.M. to 6 P.M.).

    -

Actual date and time of the tests will be intimated on receipt of the application forms duly filled in.

    -

The list of selected candidates will be announced at Vidyashala on 3rd May at 5 P.M. Results may be known through telephone(0821-2514000/2417555).

    -

Only successful candidates will be informed of their selection by post.

    -

Selected candidates will have to be brought for admission between 1st June and 5th June along with original Marks Card and original Transfer Certificate duly countersigned by the Educational Authority of the area.

c)  How to Apply:

    -

Prospectus with application forms A and B are made available from 1st March on payment of Rs.250/- .

    -

Applications duly filled in along with true copies of marks card of VII standard examination, copies of certificates of achievements if any, should reach the Correspondent on or before 10th April 

    -

The prescribed registration fee of Rs. 300 is to be remitted  either by cash or through a crossed bank draft while submitting the application. Cheques or postal orders are not accepted.

DEPOSITS
  

Personal variable expenditure deposit:
To cover expenses on books and other stationery items, educational excursions, medical charges,  sports articles, hobbies and such other personal expenses, a deposit of Rs.9,000 has to be made either in full or in instalments of Rs.3,000/- during June, July and August 2012. 

EXPENDITURE AT THE TIME OF ADMISSION

1. Total amount to be paid on the announcement of seats, before 10th May 2012. Fee for June 12,000 + Personal Deposit Rs.3,000, Caution Deposit (Refundable) Rs.1,000 : Total Rs.16,000 (Through Bank Draft only)

(2) Approximate amount for articles under Appendix `A’ of the prospectus will be around Rs. 4,600 ( to be paid by DD) and for articles under Appendix `B’ will be Rs.3,100 (to be paid by cash). This payment is to be made in June at the time of admission.

    Parents are requested to mention the name and roll no of their ward in the bank challan failing which the bank will keep the amount in suspense account

  3. The fee is to be paid on or before the 12th of every month, without expecting any communication or bill, failing which a fine of Rs.100/- will be levied.  If the fee is not received even during the subsequent month, the boy will be sent home.

  4. Payment of entire fee at a time or in 2 installments will be highly appreciated.  This avoids delayed payments and makes accounting easier.

  5. Fee and charges are kept at the minimum to enable parents with lesser income to educate their children in Vidyashala.  But it is subject to revision even during the middle of the year depending on the inflation in the prices of essential commodities, electricity, water charges etc.

  6. Personal Deposit amount has to be replenished if the expenditure exceeds the deposit amount.
Note :

1. Annual charges in Appendix `C’ is to cover expenditure on food, lodging, establishment, electricity, water, sports and games, library, annual day, terminal examination, building upkeep, fees prescribed by the department and development fund.

2. Extra Staff Salary mentioned in `Fee structure’ is to meet expenses not covered by grants.

3. Parents / guardians are not expected to give any money directly to their wards. The same has to be deposited in the office. If it is sent through cheque or Demand draft parents should clearly mention on the back of the cheque the name and roll number of the student and that the amount is towards pocket money. This amount can be drawn by the student for his expenses during outings and for personal purchases.

Scholarships


Open to VIII standard students but continued
upto X standard only.

To provide good education and equal opportunity to the merited but economically backward deserving candidates, the institution offers the following three categories of merit cum means scholarships.

a)  Full Scholarship :

  Eligibility :
i) Marks 75% (Grade A) and above in the VI and VII Standard annual examinations.
ii) Parent's annual income should not exceed Rs.60,000/-.

  Concession
:
- Covers expenditure on education, food, lodging, books and stationery.

But the expenses on uniform daily needs medical aid etc., will have to be paid extra.

Home traveling expenses is to be provided by the parents.

Exemption from total payment is only in genuine cases

b) Half Scholarship:


  Eligibility
:

i)

Marks 75% (Grade A) and above in VI & VII Std. annual exams.
ii) Parent annual income should not exceed Rs. 70,000/-.

:

50% in annual charges.

Excemption from payment towards extra salary fund.

All other fees and charges are to be paid in full.

c)Sahayaka Vidyarthi Vetana :

  Eligibility :
i) Marks 75% (Grade A) and above in VI and VII Standard annual examinations.
ii) Parent's annual income should not exceed Rs.120,000/-.

:

25% concession in the annual charges.
- Exemption from payment towards Extra Staff Salary Fund.

All other fees and charges are to be paid in full.

  Note :
1)

Applicants for scholarship must ask for the Income Declaration Form prescribed by the Vidyashala along with the prospectus. Applications without this income. Declaration Form will not be entertained. Applications once submitted for scholarship will not be considered under paying category or vice-versa.

2)

The income declaration should be in the form prescribed by the institution duly certified by the Tahsildar/Magistrate.

3)

If the income declaration is found false at any time, the scholarship will be discontinued and the entire expenditure on the scholar along with a penalty of Rs.5000/- will be collected.    

d) Social Welfare Department Scholarship :

In addition, there is a category of scholarship offered by the Social Welfare Department, Government of Karnataka.


  Eligibility
:

i)

For students of Karnataka only.
ii) SC/ST candidates who are economically poor.
iii) Candidates whose parents are engaged in unclean occupations.

Deposits

Pocket Money:

To cover expenses for monthly outing, Xerox, application fees for courses after PUC etc., Rs.5,000/- is to be deposited in the boy’s individual pocket money account to enable him to draw cash whenever required.

MODE OF PAYMENT

1. Fee is to be remitted only by bank draft or cheques payable at par. Payment by cash is not accepted.
2. Cheques and demand drafts should be drawn in favour of Sri Ramakrishna Vidyashala, Mysore and they may be sent by post or handed over at Vidyashala office during the working hours. Roll No and the name of the student should be written on the reverse of the Bank Draft or Cheque.
3. The fee is to be paid on or before the 12th of every month, without expecting any communication or bill, failing which a fine of Rs.100/- will be levied. If the fee is not received even during the subsequent month, the boy will be sent home.

  Application and Prospectus:  
  Prospectus with application forms can be had only in person on payment of Rs.250/- by cash, MO or DD drawn in favour of Correspondent, Sri Ramakrishna Vidyashala, Yadavagiri, Mysore 570 020. The prescribed registration fee of Rs. 250/- is to be remitted either by cash or through a crossed bank draft while submitting the application. Postal orders and cheques are not accepted. Only a few seats are available, as the rest of the seats will be for the students of X standard of this institution.

Application will be issued only after the announcement of the results of the Karnataka state SSLC examination. Marks extract duly attested should accompany the request for prospectus. Application duly filled in should be submitted within 6 days from the date of announcement of SSLC results.

Issue of prospectus is subject t0 85% in Science and maths and 80% in aggregate in the SSLC Board exam. Applicants from CBSE/ICSE must have scored 80% in Science, Maths and aggregate. Marks obtained at the preparatory exam also must be enclosed.

In case of delayed results of  CBSC/ICSE examinations, though the applicants will be eligible for  an interview, their, admission will be confirmed only if they obtain the percentage required.

There is no admission for II PUC and also for repeaters.
